Personal Bio: Dr. Lance Sisco is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon and is fellowship trained in Sports Medicine. He graduated from Davidson College where he played football and was captain of the track team. Dr. Sisco received his medical degree from the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Gainesville, Florida. He completed his residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

 

He also completed a Sports Medicine/Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at the Jewett Orthopaedic Clinic in Winter Park, Florida. Dr. Sisco moved to Asheboro in 2003, in order to be closer to family. He enjoys the “down home” family-oriented atmosphere of this close-knit community. He is an avid outdoorsman and takes advantage of the great recreational opportunities in this area such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and snow skiing. Dr. Lance Sisco has been a team doctor for several high school, college and professional sports teams including: Wake Forest University football team, University of Central Florida football team, Orlando Magic NBA team, Tampa Bay Lightning NHL team and currently Asheboro High School/Randolph County athletic teams.

 

Sports Injuries are complicated, often involving the shoulder or the knee. When athletes get hurt, often the most important concern is how fast they can get back on their game. Dr. Sisco is specifically trained to treat these extreme cases. And he brings the same expertise to injuries that don’t happen on sports fields.

 

Not everyone gets hurt sacking a quarterback or running a marathon. Sports-type injuries can happen any time people are moving – raking leaves, changing a tire or carrying a toddler. Often these are knee or shoulder injuries. Sports medicine surgeons treat both athletes and non-athletes, using expert skills to return their patients back to full function as quickly as possible.
