Lorraine's Story

“Before I knew what happened, I had been bucked from my horse and was lying in the dirt. I knew immediately that I was seriously injured.”

Upon learning that her L1 vertebrae had exploded on impact, Lorraine was taken into surgery two days later with Dr. Shakeel Durrani.

“I felt fortunate to have a spine expert here locally. Hearing that you might not walk again is an emotional experience. I received exceptional care and am grateful to Randolph Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine for getting me back up and riding again.”

Playing pickup basketball is a routine activity for Justin Walker. What wasn’t routine was the way his knee swelled-up after a weekly game, making it painful and difficult to walk. Having played sports his entire life, it wasn’t a total surprise to Justin when the MRI showed a meniscus tear.

“Dr. Sisco sat me down and walked me through my options. He also listened to my recovery goals, one of which was to return to the court as soon as possible. Based on that discussion, the entire team at Randolph Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine created a plan to get me back on the court safely.”

Testimonials: Letters and Emails from Patients

I fell on my knee and tore the meniscus. Dr. Yaste had previously treated me, and I thought he was amazing but he was away, so I chose his associate, Dr. Lance Sisco. I was hesitant to see another doctor for this injury because I really trusted Dr. Yaste and thought nobody could compare. I did call Dr. Sisco because I was in such pain. The staff made the appointment quickly and were compassionate and helpful. They impressed me. Dr. Sisco not only told me the exact cause of the excruciating pain, but he totally eliminated that pain BEFORE I LEFT THE OFFICE. I still can’t believe it. I would definitely recommend him to all my friends and still thank God for him and his ability. Thanks Dr. Sisco!

I have recently visited Dr. Stover and her nurse, Lisa Cox. Dr. Stover removed an intense ingrown toenail from my big toe and was able to get me in for my visit in a timely manner. Dr. Stover and Lisa were very careful, informative and compassionate about this procedure and how it was going to go; as well as the next precautions to take. I highly recommend Dr. Stover, Lisa Cox and Randolph Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine for anyone who needs to be seen! Very thankful for the expertise, care and compassion I received throughout my visit, procedure and recovery.

I want to express my thanks to Dr. Durrani and his staff for the excellent care I received related to my spine surgery on November 18. I had several visits with Dr. Durrani trying to decide if and when I should have it. I had a page of questions which he patiently answered and explained the procedure and how it would help me. I also had concerns because of the COVID crisis, but he also alleviated my concerns that Randolph Hospital was a safe environment. My spine surgery was successful, and I am recovering very well. I feel very thankful that Randolph County has a competent and compassionate spine surgeon in Dr. Durrani.

I recently had an appointment with Dr. Jeffrey Yaste of Randolph Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine to evaluate my hip for chronic pain due to an ice hockey injury. I was extremely pleased with my experience at the Practice! The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and I was in the waiting room only for a few minutes before they called me back to be seen. All of the nurses and tech staff were great as well…I never waited for more than a minute or two between having preliminary discussions with the nurse, being taken back for x-rays, and then having Dr. Yaste come in to evaluate me and diagnose my injury based on the results. And Dr. Yaste was the perfect combination of being knowledgeable, professional, thorough and compassionate! After thoroughly diagnosing my injury, he took the time to find out how my injury was affecting my day-to-day life, what my goals were for the future (being a sports-related injury), and then gave me a great recommendation for treating my injury. I’m really excited to work with Dr. Yaste and the staff of Randolph Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine on my road to recovery!!
